Have you ever experience the pain of not being able to solve a problem laid in front of you? Have you ever caught yourself thinking that you will never ever going to solve a problem and there will be no way out? I bet you have. But wait! It should not be a dead end. We are able to make use of our mind power to help us solve the problems which seem to be unsolvable and overwhelming. With some application of good problem-solving techniques, I believe you should be able to view the problems in another angle which lead you to the solutions.

In whatever case, first and foremost is to have positive thinking. You have to believe that there is a solution to your problem and you are able to solve it if you put on your thinking cap. You have to make sure you have an open mindset to accept all possibilities as there are more than one way, which is your way, to solve a certain problem.

Positive thinking is crucial to effectively solve your problems as you will find your mind automatically searching for possible solution now and then. People who focus on the problem will never find a solution because at most what they have done is nothing but wasting time worrying and complaining. On the other hand, if someone is putting in the effort to focus on finding the solution, he or she is more likely to solve the problem.

When we are ready with a positive mindset, we can start applying some problem-solving techniques to more effectively finding the right solutions.

With an opened mindset, we can actually take a step back to see the problem at hand more clearly. In order to see the nature of your problem, you will need to analyze and see how this problem arises. There must be a cause to your problem and when this cause is eliminated, your problem will cease. With that, you will get a better picture of what you are experiencing now and thus, you will stand a better chance in finding your solution.

There are times when your problem seems to be so gigantic and overwhelming. Such problem can be complicated and it can confuse you to the extent that you are not able to see your solution clearly. When things seem to be complicated, break them down to part by part so as to simplify them. If it is necessary, you may just have to solve it part by part in order to solve the whole problem. It may take a longer time, but you will ultimately solve your problem.

If you think you cannot solve your problem alone, get someone to help you. Two heads are better than one and so, get your family or your friend to find the solution. Getting help from others doesn’t mean that you depend totally on them for the solution. You are supposed to listen to what they have to suggest and take down the ideas. Being opened to all solution and analyze each and every possible solution and come up with the most effective one. If it happen that you know someone who had met with such problem you are facing now, it would be wise to learn from him or her on how the problem was solved.

Make use of your power of mind to be optimistic and believe that there must be a solution out there. You may not solve your problem in your first attempt or even the second, but with persistency and patience, you will be able to wipe out your problem sooner or later and get to achieve whatever dream you may have.

You will not be focusing on the tons of “work” waiting for you to complete, but you will be concentrating on the end results that you will bring about.

4. Goal Setting

Write down on paper what you want to achieve in the future, say 5 years. Then go on to set goals on what you want to achieve in the short term, for example, 3 years, 1 year, 6 months and then 1 month. Setting short term goals are just as vital because that will take you a step closer to attaining long term goals.

Once you have your goals in place, the next important thing to do is to work at achieving these goals. Remember, in order to be successful at self improvement, you must be committed to working hard to achieve your goals. Follow the above mentioned tips and success will be yours very soon.

Also, it’s important to use a present tense, not a future tense like “I will be thin” as your subconscious takes everything literally. If your request is in the future, it will think that it doesn’t need to change anything now. It lives in the present.

Be careful not to use negative words accidentally: such as “I’m not going to be poor any more.” Your subconscious mind doesn’t understand words like “not”, “doesn’t” or “won’t”. It will automatically delete those words from your request which will almost always create the opposite meaning and results of your goal!

There are many techniques you can use to create clear pictures of your completed goal. Most find that imagining a movie in their mind of what it will be like when you achieve your goal to replay in your thoughts to be very effective. For example, if you’re trying to wipe out your credit card debt, imagine yourself receiving statements from your credit card companies with a $0 balance on the payment section.

Remember, what you focus on expands. If you constantly see yourself overweight, or in debt, that’s what your subconscious mind will continue to create for you in your reality. It’s very simple and takes very little time to mentally produce a “movie” that gives your subconscious a clear idea of what results you want.
