As you will have gathered from previous articles on this site, the law of attraction does not always work the way that all parties involved would like it to. Why is that? After all, in the law of attraction is universal, why does it only work part of the time and not every time?

The answer to that is found in the minds of the people who are attempting to use it to their own benefit. The only thing standing between you and success is yourself; this was discussed in great details in earlier articles on the Law of Attraction. If the mind is clogged with so much negative energy that it cannot release the positive vibes which will attract the positive energies of the universe, the law of attraction will not be able to help them. They must first rid themselves of all of these negative vibes and start fresh.

Even though the Law of Attraction is known to help you attract all the things you want to achieve in life; all your dreams. The opposite is also true. If, instead of focusing on the positive things in life and on all the things that you wish to achieve, you start to fill your thoughts with the negative thoughts, you will find that what you do not want keep happening! On the other hand, what you do want is being driven away. This is called sabotaging your own efforts!

Therefore, keep in mind to focus your energy on what you want to achieve. Visualize the images of your dreams and your feelings when you have them. As for the negative thoughts, get rid of them as soon as they enter your mind! Remember, the power of your mind is very strong!

There are basically 3 steps to making the Law of Attraction work for you. These are the foundation steps for the Law. Whether we realize it or not, the Law is always working. Positive attracting positive and negative attracting negative. Therefore, skipping steps may cause results that differ greatly from what you intended.

Step #1: Know what you desire and ask for it
Knowing what you want isn’t as easy as it sounds. Aside from the basic physical needs, your mind is filled with wants, desires and fears. These thoughts can be both conscious and unconscious.

You need to know why you want the things you want. Maybe what you really want, isn’t what you’re asking for at all. The conscious thoughts produce the same amount of energy as the unconscious ones. And if they’re contrary to one another, you’re defeating yourself.

Step #2: Believe that what you desire is already yours
Visualizing that you have already achieved your desire is an important step in the Law of Attraction. It’s the “positive thinking” step. Focusing on having it will create positive energy. The completion of your desire is a result of this positive energy.

Step #3: Receive
This step is the one where so many people lose it. It’s the completion of your desire. Allow yourself to acknowledge your right to have your wishes fulfilled.

For many, accepting this final step is the hardest part. If you consciously or unconsciously feel you don’t deserve what you’re asking for, you won’t get it. If you don’t believe you’re worthy of having your desires come true, they never will. Thus, you have to control your power of mind and get it to help you achieve success in life and not the other way round!

The theory behind the law of attraction is the belief that energy attracts like energy in the vast expanse of space and time that comprises our universe. Each person’s being is constantly radiating energy out into space; the type of energy being radiated is determined by the emotional state of the individual in question and may differ from day to day – sometimes even hour to hour!

This emotional energy is what is commonly known as a “vibe” and is referred to as a vibration by scientists studying the law of attraction. Chances are that you are familiar with the term. Have you ever been with someone who is so happy they seem to be radiating a “glow” which inspires happiness in all those around them?

By the same token, have you ever spent time with someone who was so critical and unhappy that they consistently gave off a “negative vibe” which seemed to suck the life and happiness out of all those around them?

You do not have to possess psychic powers to be able to feel the vibes that people emit; this energy is very real on a psychological plane and will affect anyone, anywhere at any time. Our vibrations are usually an unconscious response to some form of environmental stimulus; something has happened which has caused us to feel happy, or sad, or scared, or confused, or stressed, etc., and our subconscious response to this (because vibes are generated and projected from the subconscious rather than the conscious) is something that is beyond our control.

Chances are the person who is emitting a negative vibe does not choose to be unhappy, nor do they wish to inflict their unhappiness on all those around them by the simple fact of their presence. (Before you say what you are thinking, yes, there are some exceptions to this rule. Misery does love company and there are many who take a great deal of delight in inflicting their pain on other people. It is important to understand that this is not usually done in a desire to cause others pain but more of a desire to not feel so alone in their unhappiness. But we digress…)

There are a number of feelings which lead to positive and negative vibes being emitted, and it is important before we continue on any form of discussion about the law of attraction that you understand what each of these are. In this way, you will make use of your power of mind to generate more of the positive vibes and cut down on the negative ones.

Positive vibes

  • Positive vibes are generated from good feelings, such as:
  • Joy
  • Love
  • Excitement
  • Abundance (of anything that causes a positive response)
  • Pride
  • Comfort
  • Confidence
  • Affection

Negative vibes

  • Negative vibes are generated from negative feelings, such as:
  • Disappointment
  • Loneliness
  • Lack (of any of life’s necessities or luxuries)
  • Sadness
  • Confusion
  • Stress
  • Anger
  • Hurt

Comparing two people, one with high self-esteem while the other with low self-esteem turning up for an interview for one of the vacancy in your company. Which one will you hire? The answer is obvious and nobody in the right sense of mind will ever hire the one who doesn’t believe in oneself. So, it is apparent that to develop your self-esteem is a great way to start your self development. Only then will you be able to set goals and achieve your dreams.

No matter who you are, as long as you are on earth, you will be facing obstacles and challenges, which seem to be appearing day in day out. If you did not develop your self-esteem with solid foundation, these “problems” will harm you, or even destroy you completely. 1. Avoid Negative Influences
Always try to stay away from difficult people. Backstabbers, gossipers, complainers, naggers, people with negative thoughts, people who think that the world owes them a living and many other bad influences which you should not get near. These negative influences can affect your self-esteem and self-improvement plan.

2. Avoid Unhealthy Working Environment
Unless we are living in an opposite world, everyone wants to win and get ahead of everyone else. If you are into an unhealthy competition with your colleagues, most of you will be taking care of your own well-being and future. Who will ever spend the time and spare the thought for others, let alone being appreciative of what you might have done for them. In the worse case scenario, they might even play office politics and backstab you. Stay out of such unhealthy competition as it will only ruin your energy and self-esteem.

Compete only when it is a healthy competition where everyone is motivating everyone else in the company.

3. Avoid Crying over Spilled Milk
Let us face the reality. Everybody, differ only in the number of times, faced failures which might have hit us so hard that we feel we could not stand up again. Never let such bad experience destroy your self-esteem and deter you from trying again because if you are afraid of trying again, you would never ever succeed. Treat all failures as lessons learnt, so that the next round you will come back even stronger and wiser.

4. Avoid Negative Views
Avoid negative views which make everything looks dark. To develop your self-esteem, always think positive. When you are focusing on the bright side of things, you stand a greater chance to turn things around to a better position. With positive thinking, you are in a way building your self-esteem. They are in one way or another linked.

Developing self-esteem is very important if you are aiming to succeed in life and it is a great start in developing your self-development. When you have built your self-esteem, you will be better in controlling your own life as you are beginning to stand up to what you believed and valued. Avoid all other factors that bring about bad influences to your self-esteem and work towards your goals positively through firm control of your mind power.

The power of mind is a concept that has been around for a very long time. It refers to our ability to control our own lives without getting influenced by any negative external forces. Whether you realize it or not, this idea actually plays an important role in determining our success in life. Many names have also been evolved around this same idea, such as “we are what we think we are”, “Positive Thinking” and “Law of Attraction”.

So how is it possible that simply by using our power of mind, we can get what we want?

1. Generate positive energy
In order to attain success, it is vital that we control our thought process because if we focus too much on the negative thoughts, the negative energy produced will be just as much. For example, if we have a fear of failing in our business venture and constantly think about it, we will be more likely to meet with obstacles and negative results. Thus, the chances of really failing will be high so we should never allow our negative energy to manifest within us.

On the other hand, when we train our mind to focus on the positive thoughts instead, we will generate more positive energy which can then help us to achieve our goals.

2. Conditioning our mind
Studies done have shown that we are shaped by our own conscious and unconscious thoughts. Therefore, if we make use of the power of our mind and condition our unconscious mind into believe that we have already achieved what we want, we will be able to achieve success in no time at all. What we need to do is to visualize the good things that we want in life and this should be done everyday. Over time, our mind will believe that we already have our desired lifestyle and when our mind does not see the things in real life, it will search for it and start work towards achieving it.

Similarly, it is vital to stop thinking about the ‘what ifs?’ Should you feel that your mind has wondered off to think about something negative in your life, switch to the positive thinking mode immediately.

3. Believe in our rights to the goodness in life
Once we know what we want and have been visualizing our wants in our minds, the next step is to condition our minds into believing that we deserve all the good things in life. We should also ‘trick’ our mind into thinking that it is already waiting for us at the end of the path. Create a desire to want to achieve all these things through our power of mind and we will be able to generate more positive energy within us. We are actually building up the “positive thinking” step and by focusing on it, we will be brought one step closer to success.

Everyone is capable of achieving great success through using our mind power to focus on only the positive thoughts. If you really do want to have a better life, then start applying the 3 steps above, starting from today and you will have a pleasant surprise.
